UAE Visa Requirements

2. Original passport

5. Proof of your sponsor’s identity 

6. Proof of your sponsor’s legal residency or citizenship in the UAE 

7. A medical fitness test by a certified practitioner 

8. For a family visa: proof of familial relations 

9. For a work visa: Work contract, company’s trade license (original and copies), and a valid firm card

Immigration to UAE from India for Work: A Step-By-Step Process 

The UAE immigration process is a bit long but is easy to understand and complete. The immigration requirements for UAE require you to have a work visa to be able to live and work in the UAE. You will need to complete the following steps to secure this visa and complete your immIgration to UAE from India. 

Step 1: Employment Visa Quota Approval 

This step needs to be taken by the employer, who needs to apply for the employment visa quota approval with the Ministry of Labour. 

The very company has certain quotas that limit the number of foreign employees that can be hired. Thus, approval by the Ministry of Labour is necessary to proceed with the rest of the steps. 

Step 2: Submit a Signed Contract of Employment

The employee (you) and the employer must both sign an employment contract that serves as your proof of income. It highlights the salary, company benefits, allowances, etc allotted to you by your employee. The immigration requirements for UAE suggest that this must be submitted within 14 days of gaining the employment visa quota approval. 

Step 3: Entry Permit Application 

Once you have your employment visa quota approval, you must apply for the entry permit. According to UAE immigration rules, you cannot enter UAE without this permit, irrespective of whether your visa has been approved or not. 

You can apply for this permit as soon as your employment contract is submitted. 

Step 4: Work Visa Application 

You can apply for a work visa through the Ministry of Labour’s website. Keep all supporting documents like your proof of employment, certificates of educational qualifications, passport copies, passport-sized photos, etc. as needed by the immigration requirements for UAE ready. 

Step 5: Apply for an Employment Entry Visa

Once your entry permit and work visa are approved, you will receive an Employee Entry Visa in your mail. This visa allows you to enter the UAE within 60 days of receiving it. You can then complete your medical testing, emirates registration, and so on. 

Step 6: Enter UAE with your Entry Permit

You can now enter UAE with the entry permit, with which phase one of your immigration to UAE from India is complete.

Step 7: Medical Testing

As per UAE immigration policy, all incoming immigrants must go through medical checks to detect infectious diseases like Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis, etc.

Step 8: Residence Visa Application

After you complete medical testing your employer will initiate your residence visa application. This can be done on the ICA website. Upload all the necessary documents and pay the fees for the visa to proceed. 

Step 9: Submit Contract of Labor 

You must submit a signed labor contract at the MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation) within 14 days of completion of your medical screening to proceed with your UAE immigration. 

Step 10: Receive Residence Visa 

Receiving your residence visa means you are almost done with your UAE immigration. This visa allows you to live and work in the UAE legally. 

Step 11: Emirates ID Application 

This is an integral step to completing your UAE immigration. You must apply for the Emirates ID as soon as you move to the UAE. This ID is a national identity card that has your visa, identity, and residency details. You will need to use it for almost all transactions. 

Step 12: Receive your Emirates ID

Up till 2021, the visa needed to be physically stamped to be declared valid. But after 2021 the UAE immigration policies were changed, according to which your visa and other details were directly linked to your Emirates ID. Receiving the Emirates ID is, therefore, the last step in your UAE immigration process.
